Witnessing the inaugural WPA Heyball Parasport World Championship was an electrifying experience. Held in Los Angeles at the LA Convention Center from December 15-20, 2024, this groundbreaking event showcased the incredible talent and determination of athletes from over 31 countries.
The Championship welcomed 138 athletes, including 78 wheelchair athletes and 60 ambulatory athletes, representing over 31 countries. This diverse field competed at the highest level, inspiring all those in attendance.
Inclusivity in Action and a Platform for the Future
The Championship celebrated the unique abilities of athletes regardless of disability, breaking down barriers and showcasing the power of human potential.
This inaugural event aimed to elevate Heyball as a global sport, with the ultimate goal of inclusion in the Brisbane 2032 Olympic games.
